Same same but different
The 9-year-old Emily Ernest, an American wild child, grows up in poor circumstances with her widowed mother in Brooklyn in the late 19th century. Until it turns out she’s the granddaughter of the misanthropic Countess of Liebenfels and her only inheritress. She takes little Emily to Austria to raise her there to a real aristocrat. But Emily succeeds in turning the Countess’ world upside down with her aireness and shows her grandmother what it really means to be a “Lady”.
Little Lady is Lucky Birds film version of the popular children’s book and evergreen Little Lord Fauntleroy by Frances Hodgson Burnett. The star-studded production is an international co-production with Lotus Film, shot in Vienna and Lower Austria. The Austrian Television Fund, the Media Programme of the European Union and the FFF Bayern funds the project.
